When Scott Moran, founder of specialist firm MoranLaw, began the search for a larger Wellington office to support his growing team, he turned to TwentyTwo’s Dean Croucher for some advice. The two had worked together for years across mutual clients and back when Scott was a partner at a national law firm, so Dean was a natural sounding board.
The new workspace MoranLaw found was mostly a “walk-in” solution, but it needed some fresh workplace technology to meet the team’s flexible working needs. Dean connected Scott with our Chief Technology Strategist, Matthew Peko-Fox, and Senior Technology Adviser, Andrew Craig, to help scope out the right setup.
As part of the process, Scott also reached out to Helen Mallon, COO at the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment (PCE), for a sense check, knowing we’d just delivered a similar workplace tech project for PCE. Scott and Helen know each other through their shared involvement in sports governance and it was a helpful extra layer of reassurance.
What followed was a true technology partnership, one that took the stress out of setting up a new office and ensured the MoranLaw team was ready to hit the ground running from day one.
A tailored technology solution
From the outset, Matthew Peko-Fox and his team worked closely with Scott Moran and Sara Barnes to understand what they needed from their new space, balancing functionality, flexibility and a smart user experience. The TwentyTwo team provided early-stage advisory input, then took full ownership of the tech design, planning and delivery oversight, giving the MoranLaw team peace of mind that everything was in good hands.
Over three days, we then oversaw a comprehensive workplace technology set-up that included:
- Structured cabling
- Network setup
- WiFi
- CCTV
- Audio Visual
- Meeting Room Booking Panels
- Digital signage
- Microsoft Teams Rooms deployment
- VOIP phone solution
To give MoranLaw complete peace of mind, TwentyTwo took care of everything, from backend configurations to ensure a smooth setup, to managing onsite contractors, commissioning, handover and training. We even project managed the porting of phone numbers and the internet connection. Thanks to our holistic approach to workplace technology and our proactive mindset, everything that could be prepared in advance was ready to go. When move day arrived, setup and onboarding were seamless.
Smart spaces, designed for hybrid
The fit-out included two hybrid enabled meeting rooms, a 12-person boardroom and a smaller 6-person meeting room, each with carefully positioned cameras and mics to support seamless remote collaboration. Our design team, led by TwentyTwo’s Andrew Craig, made the most of existing equipment by re-using their existing TV and integrating new microphones, cameras and booking panels.
Two additional quiet rooms were also fitted with booking panels, enabling flexible working and space management.

Designed with people in mind
To support the team long after handover, we created tailored user guides and hosted a training session to ensure everyone felt confident with the new systems.
The TwentyTwo difference
MoranLaw had worked with other providers in the past but found our approach far more proactive and collaborative. With regular communication and a responsive project team, the entire project ran smoothly, something the client called out as a major win.
